About
Improv for Good.
In early 2024, several friends who were doing improv on the Central Coast saw a need to share this dynamic performance artform with underserved communities, and started a troupe called Improv for Good to further the mission of channeling the power of comedy for charitable purposes.
Play with Us!
Studies have shown that improv boosts confidence, decreases stress, fosters creativity, reduces social anxiety and uncertainty intolerance, activates the brain's language and creativity centers and promotes brain connectivity to repair the effects of trauma. Laughter boosts the immune system and provides an overall feeling of well-being. We endeavor to bring healing and ease suffering through smiles. Our growing troupe performs for community members who could use a little extra cheer, including seniors, disadvantaged children, and caregivers. We also offer affordable and accessible community classes and free improv meetups. In addition, IFG performs at fundraisers for good causes.
Book Us!
Improv is live theater made up on the spot! All of our performances are completely original and based on audience suggestions, and they can be specifically tailored. Please contact IFG at improvforgood@gmail.com to book a free performance at your venue or event. Need to learn more about improv? Go here.
Perform with Us!
While our core team has prior improv experience, we welcome all current and new improvisors. All you need to join us is a desire to serve up laughs for charity and a willingness to learn by doing. We'll practice fun improv games in a safe and supportive environment, and we've always got your back! As an all-volunteer organization, participation is based on each member's bandwidth. To join us, you'll need to review and accept the IFG Player Rights and Responsibilities. If you're interested, please fill out this form and we'll be in touch soon.
Have you ever wanted to try improv? Are you an experienced player looking for opportunities to practice? Come play short form games and share smiles in a supportive environment. The second Saturday improv meetup is 2-4 pm in Studio D at Flex Performing Arts, 1820 West Grand Ave, Grover Beach.
